- Press Compress PDF.
- Compare the before and after sizes and download.
How the compression works
Lossless rewrites the PDF more efficiently, removing duplicate data and unused objects. Text stays selectable and quality is identical, but savings are usually modest (5–30%).
Recommended, Strong and Target size redraw each page as an optimised image at a lower resolution and JPEG quality. This is what makes a 5 MB scan fall below 200 KB, and it is how most compressors handle scanned documents. Text in the output is no longer selectable, which is fine for uploads to forms and portals.
Hitting a size limit like 100 KB or 200 KB
Type the limit into Target size. The tool tries progressively smaller settings until the file fits, then tells you the final size. A one-page scan can usually reach 100 KB; a 20-page document may need you to split it first using the Split PDF tool.
Your documents stay private
Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. That is slow on mobile data and means a copy of your document sits on somebody else's computer, at least for a while. This tool works differently: the code runs inside your browser, so the file is read and processed on your own phone or laptop and is never uploaded. That makes it a good fit for bank statements, ID scans, offer letters and anything else you would rather keep private.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress a PDF to 100 KB?
Choose Target size, type 100, and press Compress PDF. The tool lowers the quality step by step until the file is under 100 KB.
Will compression reduce quality?
Lossless mode keeps quality identical. Image-based modes reduce sharpness slightly; Recommended is chosen to stay easy to read on screen and when printed.
Is it safe for Aadhaar, PAN or bank statements?
Yes. The file is processed on your device and never uploaded.
